I'm a 23 year old who reviews books I mostly review contemporary and paranormal and I have a lot of fictional boyfriends. “ One must always be careful of books," said Tessa, "and what is inside them, for words have the power to change us.” ― Clockwork Angel I spent my life folded between the pages of books - Shatter Me
Her eyes look sharp and steady
Into the empty parts of me
But still my heart is heavy
With the hate of some other man’s beliefs
One of my favorite relationships in The House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune is between sprites Zoe and Phee (the mentor and the mentee). As Arthur Parnassus’ right hand person and integral part of the Marsyas family, Zoe does her best and is universally adored. 🧚🏾♀️
I admittedly got a bit wibbly drawing this one. There’s something so lovely about Zoe’s dynamic with all the kids, but especially with Phee, and it hit me right in the feels.
(Linus and Arthur are coming. But first: Talia, Chauncey & Lucy! :D)
A home isn’t always the house we live in. It’s also the people we choose to surround ourselves with. You may not live on the island, but you can’t tell me it’s not your home. Your bubble, Mr. Baker. It’s been popped. Why would you allow it to grow around you again?
I am slowly making my way through the cast of T.J. Klune’s wonderful story, The House in the Cerulean Sea. 🥰 Meet Sal, the sensitive, sweet, and tender-hearted poet of the orphans on Marsyas. I have plans for another image when he is in his were-state, but for now, enjoy him in his element: hanging out with Theodore and cuddling Linus’s cat Calliope!
Theodore (the wyvern from T.J. Klune’s The House in the Cerulean Sea) demands coins for his hoard. But in the event coins are not available, he will very happily accept a shiny brass button. 😂 Drawing this adorable iridescent little dude has been the highlight of my week.
Y’all, I’m in love with this novel. If you haven’t read it yet, please move it to the top of your list. It’s compassionate and healing and kind and romantic (and queer), and by God, more art from this book is coming. ❤️
